Cryopheresis with a high capacity cryofilter

A rather extensive experience in treating 13 patients with cryoglobulinemia
and 3 with cold IgM hemagglutinin disease using cryfiltration is reported.
All patients were unresponsive to high dose prednisone plus
immunosuppressives. The COBE Spectra machine was used, with a cryofilter
made by Gelman Science (Ann Arbor). 300 treatments were given over 2 years
with no complications. All patients were reported to be improved on the
basis of clinical symptom scores, but the specifics are not given in the
abstract.
