Amanita phalloides poisoning in children -- Acute renal failure prevention
22nd ESAO Congress (Eur Soc Artif Organs)
Int J Artif Organs (Oct) 18:429 1995

ARF was found in 6/35 children poisoned with mushrooms, presumably Amanita phalloides. Dialysis was not required in any patient. ARF occurred when treatment was begun late, and was worse when ARF complicated the clinical course.

Comment: Refer to the 10/22/95 NEPHROL thread for an interesting discussion of late ARF in mushroom poisoning, and the role of other mushrooms such as Cortinarius and Amanita smithiana. (J. Daugirdas)
