This is really a description of work in progress by these investigators from
Ulm, Germany: Their work is an attempt to integrate knowledge of drug
pharmacokinetic parameters available in several databases with algorithms and
functions to calculate clinically useful recommendations. They describe a
relational database with 10,000 primary pharmacokinetic parameters for 1,500
drugs obtained from the literature. These are verified with plausibility and
consistency algorithms. The end result will be a "knowledge-based drug
information system" useful to treat patients with renal or hepatic
impairment.
