Reversal of left ventricular hypertrophy in daily
hemodialysis
Clin Hyp Nephrol (Calab)
(Sep) : 1995
Retrospective study based on analysis of 34 patients switched
from standard hemodialysis to daily hemodialysis. After 12 months of
daily hemodialysis mean blood pressure decreased significantly in
comparison with standard hemodialysis (95.5 +/- 15.6 vs. 106 +/- 21.7,
p<0.001). Echocardiographic parameters showed a clearcut reduction in
cardiac hypertrophy. A prospective study has recently been started by
the same group to confirm these data.
